Things have slowed down since Labor Day but the fishing is consistently getting better. The trout bite is starting off great! Have run many trips this month with great numbers of trout and redfish. Most productive bait has still been live shrimp and many fish on finger mullet or cut mullet. October fishing should be great!!....would be nice if the wind would take a break though!

Week of 8/30 - 9/5

Ran 4 half day trips and a 3/4 day trip this week. Wind has been cranking!! Plenty of fish around....caught trout, flounder, a few reds, ladyfish (everywhere now), bluefish, bonnetheads, stingrays, and got into some real nice spanish mackeral. Everything caught on live shrimp or menhaden.

Week of 8/23 - 8/29

Ran several corporate/group trips this week. Mostly did shark fishing with many bonnetheads caught in addition to several large stingrays, large ladyfish and bluefish are plentiful as well. Had a bachelor party on board for a half day and that was a blast. We caught several redfish and many other little bottom fish and a few bonnetheads.

Week of 8/16 - 8/21

This week I ran several Eco Tours and shelling trips. Had several great families on board watching dolphins 'strand feeding' on large schools of mullet and even had a 5 year old girl that insisted on kissing a fish on the lips....caught a net full of menhaden and she didn't let me down, very funny! Also ran several shark trips that produced many bonnetheads, sandbar sharks and a couple of finetooth sharks.

Week of 8/9 - 8/14

On Sunday I had a little one (7) on board so we bottom fished to keep him easily entertained. Caught a bunch of sea bass and many other bottom dwellers. Managed to throw a couple trout in the mix as well. Monday fished out at Kiawah and caught a redfish and a couple of trout before moving to the inlet to let the kids catch some bonnetheads. Wednesday I had a great sunset cruise with Vick and family....temperature was almost chilly for August thanks to a storm that rolled through earlier. Thursday was out at Kiawah again for shark fishing with Thomas Sr, Thomas Jr and Ben. The bonnetheads were everywhere and very hungry. Caught our fill of those and decided to head out to the reef. Messed around with an assortment of bottom fish and had a cobia (small 15lbs) under the boat for a while but he didn't want to eat anything. Friday was back in the Harbor with Ed, Carol and Plez. Caught 6 trout (several nice ones) 6 redfish, 1 flounder, several ladyfish and bluefish, and a couple of bonnetheads.

Week of 8/3 - 8/7

Ran several trips this week in the harbor and out at Kiawah. Monday had a half day with a dozen redfish. Wednesday ran 2 shark trips....several bonnetheads on each. Thursday I fished with the James family and managed 10 trout (3 in the 2.5-3 lb range) and a couple of nice flounder. Friday fished with Lance and his family and managed 11 trout, 2 redfish, 1 flounder and a pair of 10 lb black drum.

July 31 - fishing trip

When will this wind quit blowing?? Had Pat and Angela on board today for a half-day trip. Ended up with 20 redfish (juveniles), 2 trout and a flounder. The competition between them was funny! Hate to say it Pat but I think the final tally was Angela 15 to your 8 and she had no help from me whatsoever! Good times!

July 28 - fishing trip

Fished a half-day with father and son (Jimmy and Lewis) today. Caught 7 redfish, one at 19 lbs...Lewis did a great job on this fish on light tackle in shallow water! Couple of trout and a flounder. Fun day and great company.

July 24 - fishing trip

Had the Williams family on board today for a half-day fishing trip. Started off a little slow waiting on the tide to turn....fished for sharks for a bit and only managed one and a couple of big blues, they were biting short today! Got to mess with a big stingray for a while. Anna did a great job with that. Moved on to catch 10 or 12 trout and a couple of redfish. Great company to have on the boat!

July 17 - fishing trip

Fished a full-day trip today with the Dunbar brothers. Great guys and I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day on the water with them! Fished the harbor and ended up with 9 or 10 trout, 5 redfish, 3 flounder, bonnethead sharks (1 really nice one), big ladyfish and bluefish and many other little fish. Wind really cranked up in the afternoon!

July 14 - fishing trip

Fished a half-day in the harbor. Ended up with 3 over slot redish (27, 28, 31 inches) and several black drum (1 @ 15 lbs). Then moved on to catch some bonnetheads and managed 8 or 9. Fun day!
